150th Birthday Celebration of Rabindranath Tagore

Dear Friend,

Ravindra Bhavan, Gujarati Sahitya Parishad and Gujarat Vishvakosh Trust, Ahmedabad, propose to pay homage to Rabindranath Tagore on his 150th birthday by organising a Seminar and a concert of Rabindra Sangeet in Ahmedabad.

The Seminar has been organised under the guidance of Shri Sankha Ghosh, an eminent poet and concordance of Tagore. He has kindly agreed to grace the occasion.

Time: October 14, 2011, evening

Seminar Theme: My Tagore; Why Tagore

Speakers:

William Radice, England. – Poet, Tagore scholar and translator. Tagore, the Man of letters Martin Kaempchen, Germany and Santiniketan – Tagore scholar and translator, works in Santhal village near Santiniketan for more than 20 years – Tagore and rural education               

Partha Ghose, Kolkata – Physicist and Music  expert – Tagore, the Music Maker                  

R. Sivakumar, Santiniketan – Art Historian – Tagore, the painter

K. Satchidanandan, Delhi – Eminent poet, – Tagore and his vision of India                

Niranjan Bhagat, Ahmedabad – Eminent Poet – Tagore’s Universal Humanism

Venue: Shri Hiralal Bhagawati Auditorium, Gujarat Vishvakosh Trust

Time: October 15, 2011. Two sessions of two hours each in morning and afternoon.
